Dracula
by Jeff Siamon

This is a very loose adaptation of the Bram Stoker novel. in Jonathon Harker’s words:

“My name is Jonathon Harker. My employer, the Honourable Richard Hawkins, QC, was too ill to make this journey so I am in his stead. I am here to finalize the purchase of an estate north of London to a Count Dracula of Castle Dracula high up in the Carpathian Mountains of Transylvania. If by chance you should read this journal, you will think me mad or at best delusional. But I swear that all the events I relate are true, as fantastical as they may seem.”

And thus begins a tale of horror for Jonathon. He is kept a prisoner in Count Dracula’s castle, attacked by the Count’s female vampires; and once having escaped, he wanders across eastern Europe in a daze of amnesia.
xxxMeanwhile, the Count and his female vampires travel to London where they prey upon Lucy Westenra and her mother. Jonathon is rescued by his fiancé, Mina Murry. They return to London to find that the Count has introduced himself to Mina’s household. Jonathon has no memory of his stay in the Count’s castle. But, nevertheless, he has unspoken fears of that time. So much so that when he is introduced to the London Count, his fears overwhelm him.
xxxLucy has been suffering from nightmares that have caused her to sleepwalk ever since her father and brother have died. Dr. Seward, a friend of the Westenra family, has invited Professor Abraham Van Helsing to help cure Lucy of her sleepwalking. But Dracula has a cure for her: his kiss of death. And he doesn’t stop there. Jonathon and Mrs. Westenra become vampires. And soon all of London is threatened.
xxxSo to defeat him, Mina is offered as bait just before sunrise. For Dracula can only appear in the night. During the day, he is safely asleep in a coffin of soil in his estate’s crypt. But if the rays of the sun should strike him, he would be immobilized. Then a stake could be driven into his heart that would kill him and all his vampires.
